Rough Night

Rough Night!
This shift has been one of the most stressful shift I have even been a part of.
and that is saying something, since I work at the restaurant since day one.
Why do people act as if they own everything?
People! just because we serve you, that doesn't make us your servants.
Just because you have more money than other people it doesn't give you any right to talk down to them.

urgh! fabulous life of a manager...

Urban

I stopped by Urbanoutfitters yesterday on my way to Cafe Claude to finally buy this super cute and chic shoes I've been eyeing for quite a while.

On my way to the cashier I spotted this amazing jacket which complement my new shoes and the other boots that I have.
And since one can't have enough clothes, I bought it!!!

The restaurant is tucked away from the craziness of downtown San Francisco.
You can find it by Claude Lane between Sutter and Grant St.

Circle of Life

This by far is the best opening I have ever seen on Tony Awards.
I can't believe it didn't win the Tony for best musical that year.
Tsidii Le Loka who played Rafiki was amazing.
She didn't win a tony but she did manage to grab the drama desk and drama league.

Les Miserables

Omg! It's coming back in the bay area this 10th of July and staying until 26 of August. I hope Colm Wilkinson will play Valjean at least for a night. I've been dying to see this amazing show since I was a child back in the Philippines. After watching lea Salonga played Eponine on the 10th Anniversary Special  15 years ago, me and my friends have been singing On My Own like crazy.

One of my co-worker is an opera singer and he also loves Les Mis. I remember on one of our trip to Los Angeles, it was just the two of us in the car and we drove from San Francisco. He pretty much played broadway, opera and show tunes all throughout the trip and by the end of that crazy trip I've been singing tunes from Avenue Q, Fantom, Les Miz, and rocky Horror just to name a few.

Lentil

I have notice that for the past few weeks that I've been enjoying Indian Cuisine.
Lamb vindaloo is by far my favorite.
I probably have tried at least 8 different Indian Restaurant and so far Pakwan Restaurant is my favorite. Their lamb vindaloo and chicken curry is really good.
But if you're craving for lentil soup, Bombay Indian Restaurant by Market and Sanchez st is the place to go.

Sushi Boat

On our quest for the very elusive thai place somewhere near union square, We stumble upon this cute japanese restaurant called Sushi Boat.

Food was ok nothing to gush about. I ordered the sushi platter and soup which taste like kimchi seafood flavored noodle soup.

Will i go back? probably as i really like japanese food and the place is very cute. Kinda of secluded from the craziness.

Thai

I spend the whole day (Friday) with my good friend Genia. Google offers by far is one of the best website when it comes to great deals. We snag one for this amazing Thai restaurant few blocks away from my apartment.

Right after we stopped by Moby Dick for some good ole wheat beer and pool table and ended the day with me shaving my hair off. That's right people I'm sporting a Nene Leakes type of hairdo.

they serve their lunch special bento style.

Arrozcaldo

I made some kick-ass arrozcaldo last night and it is kinda the bomb.com

Weather was kind of gloomy and since it was my day off, i decided to make me some. This dish reminds me of the simple ways to brighten up someones day. My mom use to cook this during the monsoon season back in the Philippines. For those of you who wants to know how to make one, here's what you'll need.

Ingredients:

Chicken: dark meat
1/2 yellow Onions: chopped
2 cloves Garlic: Diced
Ginger: cut into stripes
Scallions: chopped
2 table spoon olive oil or canola oil
4 to 6 Hard boiled eggs
Chicken stock or chicken bouillon
Pepper and Fish Sauce to taste
8 cups of water

Procedure:

1.In a pot, heat the cooking oil then saute the garlic, onion and ginger.
2. Dash-in some ground pepper
3. Add the buillon and cook until it melts.
4. Cook the chicken until outer layer is brownish.
5. Add fish sauce and uncooked rice
5. Cook for 30 to 45 minute until rice is fully cooked. Stil occasionally to prevent rice from sticking into the bottom of the pot.
6 Served with garlic, scallions, hard boiled egg and lemon.

Mangan tana!!!

Venting

Working in food industry is mostly fun but you get some of very neurotic super picky pretentious costumer every now and then.

Case one:

Guest: Hi! I've been looking at your menu and I'm trying to decide which one I could eat since I'm allergic to gluten and I'm vegan.

Me: You can have salad or Enchiladas without the sour-cream and we can sub mushrooms for chicken.

Guest: I really don't like onions and I don't feel like eating salad too.

Me: How about the chili? We can take out the cheese and sour cream?

Guest: I don't like chili.

Me. Ok. Hummus but with fresh veggies instead of pita bread?

Guest: But I want something hot.

Me: (Is this bitch for real? Seriously?)

Lady there's just so much we can do for you. I know it's sucks being allergic to gluten but being vegan is your choice. I have nothing against your lifestyle but next time try to research or check freaking google for place that can accommodate you. There's menu posted outside before you came in and please be considerate next time if you see there's atleast 20 people behind you.

Case two:

Guest: I would like to have a latte.

Me: Do you have milk preference?

Guest: Soy please since I'm lactose intolerant. But can you add whip cream?

Me: I'm sorry but our whip cream and most of whip cream are made of full cream.

Guest: Oh that's ok I'll still have some.

OMG! Why do some San Franciscan's has to be so freaking pretentious?! You're telling me that your lactose intolerant but you are freaking having whip cream?  ugh! This soy milk movement phenomenon has gotten way out of hand. People think it's cool and hip to sub regular milk for soy. Not knowing that consuming it is really not that good for your health.

And suburban stroller moms ! Omg! They are the most picky eaters. I'm allergic to onions, garlic, gluten, vegan, cheese, dressing on the side, no cheese, no ice, no lemon, no bread. urgh! You don't see people of color doing that. Well every now and then but majority of freaking picky eater with diva like attitude are this people.

These are just  some of the ridiculous demands or request that we get dealing with very picky guest.
