I was really happy that Chris Colfer who plays Kurt on Glee won the Golden Globe for best supporting actor. His speech is inspiring...

Shopping

I finally got me the boots I've been eyeing for quite a while. Few weeks ago I went to All Saints during their annual winter sale event. Everything was freaking half off it was insane! I ot to the store around 11am. It wasn't busy at all and the sales people are just chatting and not paying attention. The level of snootiness is unbelievable.

This people think they are better than anyone else. Seriously! I'm not the type of person who voice my disappointment over this kind of stuff to managers or supervisors. So for me to go look for the manger and tell her about the unprofessionalism of her stuff is saying something. urgh!

I left the store shaking from disappointment over the service but ecstatic with my purchase.

Will I come back to the store? Definitely! Only this time I'll absolutely give this bitches the tongue lashing of their lives. Nah just kidding!

Talangka

Urgh! I've been dreaming of eating this baby crabs for months. How I miss the simplicity of filipino cuisine. No pretensions and unnecessary ingredients , just good ole "luto ni nanay" type of cooking. Back when I was a child my my mom, big sis and I love love love this type of dish. Mama would buy fresh live baby crabs in the flee market. The way we prepare it is really simple. All you have to do is put rock salt on the crabs and chill them on the fridge. The sauce that comes with it is a mixture of soy sauce, kalamansi and chili pepper. Serve over steam rice. Yum!

Ford

Finally!

Danica Flores Magpantay, 17, a UP Fine Arts student, is named Ford Supermodel of the World 2011 on Saturday in New York (Sunday in Manila), thus bagging a $250,000 (P11.12 million) modeling contract.

Models from over 50 countries joined the international modeling contest held in New York City Saturday. The prestigious Ford Supermodel of the World was established by Eileen Ford in 1980, and was called “Face of the 80s" back then.

Danica stands at a statuesque 5’9" and weighs waif thin at 109 lbs.

Proud mother also a Supermodel

In a phone interview aired on 24 Oras Sunday, Danica’s mother Milagros ‘Lala’ Flores – who was named Ford Supermodel of the World-Philippines 1980 – related how she got the good news.

“She [Danica] called me up 5 a.m. this morning," Lala gushed. “And she says, ‘Mommy, I have an award. So I’m, like, ‘What award?’ And she’s, like, ‘I’m the winner!’"

Lala said that her daughter’s victory probably has not sunk in yet, adding: “She said lang to me, ‘Mommy, I’m just excited [with] what I do everyday.’"

Lala Flores is now a renowned makeup artist. Danica’s father, Pogs Magpantay, is a businessman.

In October last year, Danica bagged the Ford Supermodel of the World-Philippines title, the same title her mom Lala Flores had won 21 years before.

After graduating from a short course at the Master School for Models, Danica went to New York by herself to represent the Philippines in the contest.

In New York, the Lithuanian contestant was named first runner-up and was awarded a $150,000 modeling contract. The contestant from Poland won second runner-up, with a $100,000 contract.

New Hope

Hope

Hope is what gets you out of the bed in the morning when its the day of prom and you havent been asked hope pushes the caterpiller through the cacoon and drives the salmon upstream your breasts may be small and your glasses may be thick but hope does not hold up a miror hope is a horizon we head for leaving nothing behind us but fear and no we may never reach or goals its hopes that will safe us from who we once were.

Meg Griffin

Family guy may be crazy and inappropriate most of the time but from time to time you'll hear stuff like this from them. Hope is something we all should possess and never let go. Life may be bitter right now, but always remember it does get better.

New Life

NEW LIFE

It's been quite a while since I last posted something on my blog. The past few weeks was intense. Decided to quit my job, look for a new job, found a new one within 2 days, gave my 2 weeks notice, old job got burglarized wherein those cruel and evil people took everything. When I say everything i ment everything... from fridge, computers, utensils, machine, kitchen items, sodas, chips and get these... raw meat! seriously people? how low can u get? and oh they took the tables and chairs too. And the best freaking part was... the cafe is located.. wait for it...between the public defenders office and the sheriffs department. It was intense!

It was suppose to be my last week with them but since we got burglarized, the cafe has to be shut down till they can bounce back again. I feel bad for my boss since I 've been with them for quite a while but I have to move on. Bills do come every single month.

Today was the official opening of the new restaurant that i'm working for, So far it's been nice. People are friendly and the level of professionalism is by far one of the best I've ever seen or encounter. 2010 was not such a good year for me but 2011 looks promising...

Heres to NEW LIFE

One of my favorite spot in the city. Right above Van Ness Muni Station is this little flower shop.

Passing by the farmers' market at the Civic Center.
