The cute driver drove us this hill overlooking the golden bridge after our trip to Napa.

Most of the people in our group are just plain tired and ready to go home but me and Bambi, cameras whore that we are, take any chance we get to snap a photo jump in!

My dear old friend Bambi who is from Canada came to SF to visit moi again.

Since we are sick and tired of being pretentious trannies by going to those damn museum, I decided to take her to Napa and Sonoma wine country.

I'm back

I'm back people!!!

It's been a great two months off laying low on the blogging world.

So much have happened and I strongly believe that a person needs to have a break once in a while and see what's out there. Rather than being stuck on once blog. I'm not insinuating that people who regularly update their blogs don't have a life, it's just that in my personal opinion and experience I need this two months to recharge and give you folks fresh and interesting stuff to read...

Animal by Miike Snow

Last night was amazeballs! Vince and I went to Oakland to watch Miike Snow's concert. Yes! We put ourselves in danger by going to big O but it was freaking worth it.

Me and Vincie can't wait for Thursday to come!!! Miike Snow is playing at Fox Theatre in Oakland. I'm kind of apprehensive going there since big O is not the safest place but F it! We're still going!!!

Because one can never have enough shoes, I present to you babies my next very possible purchase. I actually stopped by Nordstrom last saturday on my way to All Saints to try the orange version. I gotta say, even though they look really nice and very comfortable I'm not quite sure about the white rubber thingy sticking at the back.

OMG! 

You guys have to try Brenda's French Soul Food. It's probably one of the best restaurant I have ever visited. 

yesterday, me, Vince and Victoria met for lunch since Victoria is flying back home to Russia earlier today. Vince has been raving about this restaurant for weeks and we finally got the chance to visit them and I'm telling you it is really good.

they don't take reservation and getting a table is kinda hard especially during lunch and dinner. During their rush hour, you have to write your name and how many people in this chalk board. 

We got seated 5 minutes after we arrive which was really fast provided it was lunch hour.

I can't wait to come back and bring my friend Chinky!

Here's what we order:

3 cups of gumbo

consist of chicken, sausage and okra

assorted beignets 

plain, chocolate, apple cinnamon and crawfish

pasta of the day 

fettucini with crab meat and garlic cream sauce

grillades & grits

beef cutlets braised in spicy gravy, served with grits & two eggs any style, plus cream biscuit or toast

2 cups of chicken etouffee

chicken smothered in spicy creole tomato gravy, serve with rice

Sauce

portobello mushrooms fries

I'm quite on the fence about this type of pomme frites. Basically it's breaded then deep fried and served  with some-type of ranch dressing. The texture is kind of weird though, since it's deep fried it gives you that crunchy feeling but once you bite into it the inside is  wet and slimy but in a good way.

nothing to gush about this sliders but their onion rings are to-die-for though.

rough morning hence the sushi served with wheat beer while preparing dinner for whoever wants to come over. cheers!!!

Crabby

I gave Anchor Oyster Bar a second chance few weeks ago. My first time visiting this place wasn't amusing at all. Me and my friend Ellen didn't felt the love back then but they have finally redeem themselves!

I got there around 1pm and there was just a 5 minute wait for a table which was awesome since I was starving.

I snag a table by the window and decided to have their crab burger with a cup of their famous clam chowder.

It was disgustingly good! The crab meat was so fresh and juicy and their clam chowder definitely hit the stop.

Final verdict:

The service has greatly improve and the food still as good as before.

would I go back? def. but I won't go out of my way to go there since the price is kind of pricey for the portion that they give you.

If your into good food but small portion, def. drop by on your way to the clubs on the Castro.

Ramen

It has been my little ritual or habit to eat Japanese food as soon as I get my pay check.

For some weird reason, enjoying Japanese cuisine has been like some type of detox that keeps me from losing my mind over work.

I found this cute little spot on Hayes Valley two weeks ago called O-Toro. It is very small and chic.

Plant

I change my bed sheet to orange and bought a plant.

doesn't it make my room more homey? It feels good sharing my room with another living creature.

Few nights ago, the gang and I stopped by at this very cute but overrated bistro & lounge. It used to be the California Pizza Kitchen. The place is super chic. They have nice couch that has comfortable throw pillows.

I had me a cucumber martini that tastes quite like a combination between cucumber and honeydew. It taste quite good but the it smells like astringent. lol!

This shift has been one of the most stressful shift I have even been a part of. 

and that is saying something, since I work at the restaurant since day one.

Why do people act as if they own everything? 

People! just because we serve you, that doesn't make us your servants. 

Just because you have more money than other people it doesn't give you any right to talk down to them.

I stopped by Urbanoutfitters yesterday on my way to Cafe Claude to finally buy this super cute and chic shoes I've been eyeing for quite a while. 

On my way to the cashier I spotted this amazing jacket which complement my new shoes and the other boots that I have.

 And since one can't have enough clothes, I bought it!!!

I've been dying to go back to this amazing restaurant for months. 

The restaurant is tucked away from the craziness of downtown San Francisco. 

You can find it by Claude Lane between Sutter and Grant St.

Circle of Life

This by far is the best opening I have ever seen on Tony Awards.

I can't believe it didn't win the Tony for best musical that year.

 Tsidii Le Loka who played Rafiki was amazing. 

She didn't win a tony but she did manage to grab the drama desk and drama league.

Les Miserables

Omg! It's coming back in the bay area this 10th of July and staying until 26 of August. I hope Colm Wilkinson will play Valjean at least for a night. I've been dying to see this amazing show since I was a child back in the Philippines. After watching lea Salonga played Eponine on the 10th Anniversary Special  15 years ago, me and my friends have been singing On My Own like crazy. 

One of my co-worker is an opera singer and he also loves Les Mis. I remember on one of our trip to Los Angeles, it was just the two of us in the car and we drove from San Francisco. He pretty much played broadway, opera and show tunes all throughout the trip and by the end of that crazy trip I've been singing tunes from Avenue Q, Fantom, Les Miz, and rocky Horror just to name a few. 

Lentil

I have notice that for the past few weeks that I've been enjoying Indian Cuisine. 

Lamb vindaloo is by far my favorite. 

I probably have tried at least 8 different Indian Restaurant and so far Pakwan Restaurant is my favorite. Their lamb vindaloo and chicken curry is really good. 

But if you're craving for lentil soup, Bombay Indian Restaurant by Market and Sanchez st is the place to go.
